FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER MAY 3, 2026
Dear Parishioners,
May is a month dedicated to Mary. We began with our celebration of the “Two Hearts” (the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the
Immaculate Heart of Mary) on Friday, May 1st. We will have 7:30 am Confessions, 8:00 am Mass, 8:30 am Eucharistic Exposition
and 10:00 am Closing Prayers. We will pray the rosary before our weekend Masses during the Month of
May and our parish May Crowning on the weekend of May 16th & 17th.
This weekend, May 2nd and 3rd, we will have the Land of Peace organization selling Olive Wood religious articles in the back of the church. Please support this endeavor. Some information was mentioned in last week’s bulletin.
The following is an update on some of the topics from our joint Pastoral Council and Finance Council Meeting on Monday,
April 13th. The following motions were approved:
1. That Holy Name Grade School becomes a Partnership School. It will still be Holy Name Grade School. Partnership will manage the practical operations of the grade school. This will give us an additional level of professional expertise and additional resources for our
principal, school staff, teachers, and students.
2. That the gazebo be torn down and the bushes be trimmed. Unfortunately, the gazebo has become a place for drug activity, a gathering place for homeless people, and a place for people to hide prior to engaging in criminal activity on the property. This is not safe for our parish and school. 3. That for the heating distribution in Haren Hall two fan coil units be replaced for $13,692.50 and that the two air conditioner units be repaired: in the hall for $2,205.00 and the kitchen for $1,372.00.
4. Our Parish Picnic Committee said due to the lack of a facility (Klima Garden Pavillion is being renovated) and time constraints the Holy Name Parish picnic is cancelled. The Picnic Committee suggested we join St. John’s, Sunday, August 23rd, for Mass at 11 am, and
their parish picnic 12 to 5 pm. Holy Name volunteers and visitors are welcome. St. John Nepomucene has a gift basket raffle (with basket contents of approximately $100). Anyone interested in donating a basket contact Sandy Yody at sjnody@st-john-nepomucene.org or (216) 641-8444.
It was also mentioned that our Holy Name Golf Outing will be Saturday, August 29th at Mallard Creek Golf Course.
Thank you for your financial support and your volunteer hours.
May Our Blessed Mother pray for our parish and for all of us as individuals that together we become the people God wishes
us to be.
